ABOUT PUBLIC HEALTH UPDATES

The Department of Community Medicine, Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram launched its dream project, Public Health Updates on the 20th of October 2005. This is a continuing medical education program which would help practitioners and health professionals to be in touch with the current trends in the epidemiology, management & control of diseases of public health importance. The program is being conducted as half day scientific sessions (forenoon only) on the third Thursdays of every month. The topic for each month is selected based on the current relevance of the problem. We anticipate covering a wide range of topics under communicable and non-communicable diseases. Emerging and reemerging diseases are given preference for discussions in the sessions. The different aspects of the topic will be handled by specialists in the concerned fields. We invite the whole hearted participation of all concerned for the ensuing sessions of Public Health Update series.
